Our Hausmatte artist Jonathan is settled in his new studio in Winchester but Switzerland is never far from his thoughts with two canvas commissions completed this Spring alone.

Jonathan Chapman is an artist who specialises in bold colours and fine detail.
We think it is the way he captures the emotional connection people have with a particular place that makes him such a special artist.
Jonathan’s affection for and fascination with Switzerland is very clear and as the ‘See Berg Haus’ project really gathers pace in 2016 we are pleased to announce that this Spring there will be originals exhibited in Zug, which along with limited prints will be available to buy exclusively from Hausmatte.

My personal favourite (and one I will not let go of without a fight) is Wandering Landscape below.
Although Jonathan’s work translates effortlessly onto print and can be reproduced effectively for commercial projects, there is nothing like seeing the original up close to fully appreciate the texture and detail.
